Repair Water Damage

Types of Ceilings We Repair

Normal Plaster Ceilings

Most of the ceilings have a simple cornice, but some don’t have a cornice at all.

Shadowline Ceilings

Don’t have a cornice, and the plasterboard sheet doesn’t quite touch the walls so that there’s a shadow around the edge of the ceiling

Suspended Ceilings

Also known as drop ceilings or false ceilings.

Replace Vermiculite Ceilings

Also known as ‘popcorn’ ceiling, from the 1970s. We can cover these with plasterboard.

Cornice Repair

We can repair any cornice, whether it’s simple of ornate.

Manhole Installation

We can install a ceiling manhole (also known as a ceiling hatch) to give you access to extra storage in the roof.

Our Ceiling Repair Process

We follow a proven process to ensure every ceiling repair is done to the highest standard.

Inspect & Identify the Cause
For water damage, we’ll remove the plaster so we can find the source of the leak. You may then need to get a plumber or roofer to fix the cause of the leak.
Protect Your Home

Remove Damaged Sections
We cut out cracked, sagging, or water-damaged plasterboard and dispose of it safely.

Repair or Replace
For minor cracks, we fill and smooth the area. For larger damage, we fit new plasterboard panels and secure them to the ceiling framework.
Taping & Jointing
Professional plasterboard tape and joint compound are applied, then feathered out for a seamless blend with the existing ceiling.
Sanding & Finishing
Once dry, the area is sanded to a perfectly smooth finish, ready for painting.

Plaster, plasterboard, Gyprock, and drywall are all different names for exactly the same thing:

In Australia the most common term used is plasterboard, which is a sheet of solid plaster covered in thick paper.
Plaster can refer to both a plasterboard and to the powder that is mixed with water and applied with a trowel. It’s used to cover the gaps where sheets meet.
Gyprock is a brand of plasterboard that became so dominant that people started using it to refer to all plasterboard regardless of who made it.
Drywall is more commonly used in the USA.
