Common Types of Plaster Wall Crack Repair
When it comes to fixing cracks in plaster walls, we can handle any job. Depending on the type and size of crack, it may be a small matter of tapping and plastering over it, or it may require an entire plasterboard sheet to be replaced.

Large Cracks in the Wall
Large cracks are often due to the building settling over a period of time. But can also be due to insufficient support or even a need for an expansion joint. We’ll figure out the cause and determine whether it can be patched or the sheet needs to be replaced.

Repair Spider-web Cracks
These wall cracks are usually not structural. They’re usually caused by the plaster compound being spread too thickly in an area and then cracking. In these situations, we can sand it back and apply the appropriate amount of compound, and some mesh tape if needed.

Vertical Cracks Along Joins
Vertical cracks in plasterboard walls almost always occur where two sheets meet. Maybe there’s been some movement in the structure of the building, or perhaps the joint was not joined very well in the first place. This can usually be fixed with mesh tape and compound, unless there’s no frame behind the joint.

Repair Cracks Due to Impact

Cornice Crack Repair
Sometimes the whole wall has dropped away from the ceiling, but more often than not, it’s just the cornice that was never properly connected and has fallen away. We’ll usually need to take the cornice down; clean away the old paint and plaster, and then reconnect it properly.
